NFL picks: Don't look now, but Chiefs are streaking

The Kansas City Chiefs and Audie Dennis must’ve been fired out of the same cannon recently.

The Chiefs have earned huge back-to-back wins to get to .500 on the season after an 0-2 start. They defeated the New York Giants 22-9 and then the Baltimore Ravens 37-20.

Finally, the offense is rolling, and the Chiefs looked much more like their Super Bowl-contending team from a year ago. In fact, that win may be better than any win they had last season. That was a complete game on both sides of the ball.

The Chiefs did this against a defense that has been really bad this year. Regardless, it’s a bright spot for the offense. And their defense was exceptional against an offense that has been lights out.

All in all, this is a great sign for the Chiefs Kingdom.

And two weeks ago, Audie, Charlie Schmidt and I were in a tight race. But after four weeks, Audie has used some big weeks to pull away from the pack.

Meanwhile, I’ve now put together consecutive weeks with a sub-.500 record. I have to get back on track before Audie gets a much bigger lead.

Also, we all picked up a tie after the Green Bay Packers tied in overtime with the Dallas Cowboys. We each picked the Packers.

Here’s a quick rundown on what I saw in Week 4:

The Chiefs are a top 3 team in this league.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are looking to prove me wrong as they sit atop the AFC North with a reeling Ravens team below and a Cincinnati Bengals team without Joe Burrow.

The worst team in the NFL resides in Nashville, Tennessee, and just gave a little bit of life to the Houston Texans in a 26-0 loss. The Titans will be the NFL’s worst team this year.

The Detroit Lions will be a tough out in the NFC North again. I’m worried about the Green Bay Packers wrapping that division up at this point.

If the worst team in the league isn’t the Titans, it’s going to be the New York Jets. Not beating the Miami Dolphins on Monday night was pretty ugly. It will be a long year for the Jets and Titans.

The best football divisions are out West. Right now, the NFC looks better.
