SCHROON LAKE — Both teams were undefeated and a clash was soon to happen between the Northern Soccer League Division III teams. Schroon Lake/Newcomb took the first match, 5-1, over Johnsburg/Minerva, Monday.
It was both a match of who could win the division, as well as a preview of what’s to come in sectionals.
This match went to the Wild Huskies, which outshot the IrishJaguars, 21-7.
Scoring started 15 minutes in when Logan Phillips scored thanks to the assist from Daniel Pelkey.
Mason Wing evened the score in the 26th minute and that would be where the score remained through the break.
That’s when SL/N took off. Four different players scored starting with Camden Lamphear in the seventh minute of the half.
A personal highlight happened in the 21st minute when Peyton Phillips scored his first varsity goal thanks to the pass from Logan Phillips.
Logan Phillips would score less than four minutes later with Nathan Melville closing out the scorebook in the waning minutes.
Peyton Phillips and Lamphear earned assists on the day as well.

WESTPORT — Kahne Labombard recorded a hat trick as Chazy defeated Boquet Valley in a NSL Division II soccer match.
Zeke McLennan recorded a goal, the opening one, and an assist in the second half.
Labombard’s first two goals would follow McLennan’s to set the score at 3-0 at halftime.
Landon Duprey and Pryce Parker added goals in the second half with Labombard closing out the scoring.

AUSABLE VALLEY 0
PERU — Peru got on the board quickly and kept possession to defeat AuSable Valley, 6-0 at the Apple Bowl.
Ryan Campbell teamed up with Seanen Edwards to open the scoring 26 seconds into the game. Collin Powers added the insurance goal four minutes later.
The next three goals would be Alex Watts and Edwards connecting. The first saw Edwards being the recipient of a pass from Watts, followed by two consecutive goals by Watts to close out the half.
In the second, Connor Baehre closed out the scoring midway through the second half with the assist going to Jordan Osborne.

PLATTSBURGH — While it was scoreless at half, NAC wouldn’t let that linger going into the second half to defeat Plattsburgh, 3-0.
NAC scored three goals in the first 10 minutes after the break led by Hayden Bartlemus scoring less than two minutes in with Jackson Labarge getting the assist.
Jack Earl scored the insurance goal 5 minutes into the frame to all but close the door on PHS.
Labarge ended the quick strikes for the Bobcats with his goal coming two minutes after Earl’s as Brayden Bushey got the assist.
Altogether, NAC outshot PHS, 10-5. The Bobcats’ Jake Manor saved all five of the shots that came his way to earn the clean sheet.

BEEKMANTOWN — Beekmantown dominated possession and outshot Saranac Lake. It’s only fitting they would win the contest, 1-0.
It’s a safe bet they would have wanted more, as the Eagles outshot the Red Storm, 14-1.
The lone goal came late in the first half when Jackson Goodwin found the back of the net, thanks to an assist by Adam Burnham.

ELLENBURG — It was a close Division II game between the Bobcats and Red Storm that didn’t see a dent in the scoreboard until the second half.
NAC struck twice to defeat Saranac Lake, 2-0.
The first goal came when Kelsey Magoon came up from the sweeper position to make a shot that found the back of the net.
The second one came after Emma Spoor hit the ball off the cross bar, Jamie LaPoint collected the rebound and added the insurance goal.
The Bobcats outshot the Red Storm, 12-5. Lexi Wray earned the clean sheet.
“Lexi Wray made an outstanding breakaway save to keep the score 1-0,” NAC coach Jason Seguin said. “Kinsley Trombley had a strong game for the Bobcats. Our defense played well together as a whole to keep.
“Saranac Lake’s Akey had a strong game and made some good saves.”

WESTPORT — Boquet Valley defeated Crown Point, 3-0.
The first goal came midway through the first period when Emma Conley found Claire Reynolds, who put the ball in the back of the net.
The insurance goal for the Griffins came in the 29th minute of the second half when she scored unassisted.
Reynolds recorded a second goal in the waning minutes off a PK.
Goalkeepers were busy for both teams as Boquet Valley outshot Crown Point, 18-11.
The Panthers’ Addison Hurlburt and Hailey Lacey combined for 14 saves while Ella Pulsifer recorded nine for the clean sheet.

TICONDEROGA — The Wild Huskies remain undefeated after shutting out the Sentinels, 5-0.
Piper Larabee and Olivia Hartwell scored two goals apiece as SL/N won the shot contest, 15-6.
Larabee’s goals came in the first half as she scored the first and fourth goal, both assisted by Carly Smith.
Taylor Bush added a goal with Larabee assisting on it, followed by Hartwell scoring around the 34th minute.
Early in the second half, Hartwell scored her second goal to close the scorebook.
