The Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers had a light week of practice due to the quick turnaround from Sunday’s games to Thursday night’s matchup, attempting to keep players fresh without wearing them down. Both teams held walk-throughs on Tuesday and the 49ers had another on Wednesday, while the Rams had a normal practice to close out the week.
The 49ers have far greater injury concerns entering this game, listing 12 players on their injury report. The Rams had five players on their side of the report, with only two of them missing practice entirely.
Each team released its final injury report on Wednesday and the Rams are in good shape compared to the 49ers, but they have injury questions of their own. Tyler Higbee and Rob Havenstein are both listed as doubtful to play, but everyone else is good to go.
San Francisco ruled out Brock Purdy, Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall, as well as a pair of other backups in Jordan Watkins and Robert Beal.
Rams vs. 49ers injury report
With Higbee doubtful, the Rams could give rookie Terrance Ferguson an opportunity to contribute for the first time this season. Colby Parkinson and Davis Allen will obviously get the first crack at tight end, but the door could open for Ferguson.
At right tackle, the Rams have a few options. D.J. Humphries is one potential replacement, as is David Quessenberry. Warren McClendon Jr. could also get the call as the fill-in starter on Thursday night, as it’s unclear which way the Rams will turn at right tackle.
