Will the Oregon Ducks be on the field today in Week 6 of the college football schedule?
Following a 30-24 double-overtime win over the Penn State Nittany Lions, Oregon has its first bye week of the season. Oregon is 5-0 overall and 2-0 in Big Ten play. The Ducks are the No. 2 ranked team in the US LBM Coaches Poll.
Oregon’s first bye week comes at a convenient time for the Ducks, with Dan Lanning saying earlier this week that it fell “just right” for them. After an emotional and taxing win on the road in Happy Valley against Penn State, the Ducks get set to host the No. 9 Indiana Hoosiers in Week 7, another top-10 matchup for this young team. The Ducks demonstrated their potential on both sides of the ball against Penn State, but they will face a more significant test on defense against the Hoosiers, particularly in the secondary.
Indiana also has a bye week ahead of the Ducks-Hoosiers game on Oct. 11 at 12:30 p.m. PT. The Hoosiers are 5-0, and looking to prove that they belong in the same conversation as other Big Ten powers like Oregon.
ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) gives Oregon a 70.3% chance to beat Indiana in Week 6, and the Ducks are favored by 10.5 points, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
