After securing a 21-17 upset win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, the Denver Broncos are taking an overnight trip to England ahead of next week’s London game against the New York Jets.
Not everyone will make the trip.
Broncos left guard Ben Powers will fly back to Denver to be evaluated for a biceps injury, according to a report from the Denver Post‘s Parker Gabriel. The severity of the injury is not known, but it doesn’t seem like a good sign that Powers is not making the initial trip.
The team’s depth chart lists Alex Palczewski as the backup at both guard spots, but it seems more likely that one of Matt Peart or Alex Forsyth would fill in if Powers misses time at guard, especially if Palczewski is going to continue serving as a blocking tight end in Jumbo formations.
Meanwhile, Broncos backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham is also traveling back to Denver as his wife is expecting their third child, according to Gabriel. Stidham should be able to rejoin the team in London later this week.
