Time, TV network announced for Auburn football's week 8 game vs. Missouri

The Auburn Tigers are set to face their fourth consecutive top-25 SEC opponent on Saturday, Oct. 18, when they host the No. 14 Missouri Tigers.

The SEC announced on Monday that Auburn’s clash with Missouri will kick off at either 6 p.m. CT or 6:45 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on either ESPN or SEC Network from Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama.

Auburn enters week seven of the college football season with a 3-2 record and losers of two straight games. After beginning the season with a 3-0 record, the Tigers have dropped two consecutive games to top-10 SEC opponents, Oklahoma and Texas A&M, by a combined 13 points. This week, Auburn returns from its first bye week to face No. 10 Georgia for a 6:30 p.m. CT kickoff at Jordan-Hare Stadium, hoping to end the game with its first SEC win of the season.

Like Auburn, Missouri is also set to return to action in week seven after beginning the season 5-0. The Tigers have quality wins over Kansas and South Carolina so far this season, and will begin a brutal four-game stretch this Saturday at home against No. 8 Alabama. Missouri will also face Auburn, No. 20 Vanderbilt, and No. 5 Texas A&M over the next month. Even if the Tigers fall to the red-hot Crimson Tide this Saturday in Columbia, they are expected to remain a ranked team heading into week eight’s game at Auburn.

Auburn leads the overall series with Missouri, 3-2, and holds a 3-1 record since 2012, when Missouri joined the SEC. Last season, Missouri defeated Auburn in Columbia, 21-17. Auburn led Missouri, 17-14, until the final minute when Missouri running back Jamal Roberts scored a touchdown with 0:46 remaining in the game to push his team to the win.
