Arkansas football will play an afternoon game against Texas A&M on Oct. 18. It will be Bobby Petrino‘s first home game as interim coach.
The game will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT at Razorback Stadium and be televised on ESPN. The SEC announced those arrangements on Oct. 6 as part of the conference’s flex schedule.
Both teams have an SEC game this weekend before facing each other in Week 8 of the college football season. The Razorbacks (2-3, 0-1) will face No. 12 Tennessee on Oct. 11, while the No. 5 Aggies (5-0, 2-0) will welcome Florida to Kyle Field.
This will be the first time since 2013 that Arkansas and Texas A&M will face off in Fayetteville. The series spent the last decade using the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium as a host site, with one outlier during the 2020 season that was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Arkansas went to Texas A&M and lost 42-31 that year.
The Razorbacks will honor legendary running back Darren McFadden during the rivalry clash with the Aggies.
A jersey patch emblazoned with his initials and signature silhouette are being worn on the front of the jerseys of the current players on the team wearing No. 5. This year’s honors belong to Cam Ball and Ja’Kayden Ferguson.
