The SEC has set the kickoff window for the Oklahoma Sooners‘ Week 8 road trip to Columbia, South Carolina, to face the Gamecocks. Oklahoma will play in the unfriendly confines of Williams-Brice Stadium in the early window.
Oklahoma vs. South Carolina will kick off at either 11 a.m. CT or 11:45 a.m. CT. The game will be broadcast either on ABC or the SEC Network.
The Oklahoma Sooners are currently 5-0 and 1-0 in SEC play ahead of their annual rivalry game with the Texas Longhorns. The Sooners are the No. 6 team in both the US LBM Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25. South Carolina is 3-2 on the season and 1-2 in conference play.
The Gamecocks lost 31-7 to Vanderbilt and then lost 29-20 to the Missouri Tigers on the road. They got a bounce-back win over the Kentucky Wildcats 31-13.
Last season, South Carolina jumped out to an early 21-0 lead over the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman. Michael Hawkins Jr. turned the ball over on each of Oklahoma’s first three possessions and the game was never really close.
Oklahoma is hoping for a much better showing when it takes on South Carolina in Columbia in a couple of weeks. But first, the Sooners have to take on the challenge that is the Texas Longhorns.
