Texas A&M will feature the 1975 throwback look in Kyle Field end zones

No. 5 Texas A&M (5-0, 2-0 SEC) will host Florida (2-3, 1-1 SEC) on Saturday night, as the Aggies will unveil their first set of throwback uniforms this season, honoring the 1975 Texas A&M roster that finished 10-2 and were Southwest Conference Co-Champions.

Fifty years later, the Aggies have yet to win a National Championship on the gridiron, but after starting 5-0, the Aggies are closer than ever to accomplishing that goal.

Texas A&M’s Week 6 home win over Mississippi State was the first blackout game of the year, featuring both end zones in Kyle Field painted black with the Aggies’ script in white. Under second-year head coach Mike Elko, this type of experimentation has excited the fan base amid the program’s rise.

On Thursday, a popular X profile, WaffleHouseAg, revealed in a recent photo that the Aggies will adopt another script look in the end zone. This design matches the 1975 throwback jersey, which features the same Aggies’ script in white with two stacked stripes on both sides. Again, this is just another example of Mike Elko and Texas A&M Athletic Director Trev Alberts embracing the new age of college football, which will continue as long as both men remain in College Station.

Texas A&M will host Florida on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 6:30 p.m. The game will air on ESPN.
