New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels might’ve given the Atlanta Falcons a blueprint on how to attack the Buffalo Bills in Week 5. Falcons wide receiver Drake London should be looking to replicate the Week 4 performance of Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs against what seems to be a vulnerable Bills secondary.
London feasted on the Washington Commanders in Week 4, tallying in eight receptions for 110 receiving yards versus one of the NFL’s top defensive backs in Marshon Lattimore. In Week 5, Diggs carved up the Bills for 10 receptions and 146 receiving yards. Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson surely took note of this with an extended bye week and must focus in on ways to get London the ball on Monday Night Football.
Robinson loves to operate out of the pistol formation and that could very well allow the Bills to sit in zone coverage on defense. Thus, Robinson will want to mix-in a more traditional set of offensive formations to help propel the Falcons to victory and avoid giveaways. Despite the Week 4 debacle, the Bills rank No. 2 in the NFL in opponent pass yards allowed per game, right behind the No. 1 ranked Falcons.
Nevertheless, a healthy dose of running back Bijan Robinson should force the Bills into crowding the line of scrimmage, allowing for London to operate versus the Bills with isolated opportunities.
Drake London was moved around the field in Week 4, and WRs as big as him aren’t supposed to cut like him.
