Evaluating impact of Colts vs. Cardinals final Week 6 injury report

Ahead of Sunday afternoon’s matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and the Arizona Cardinals, let’s take a closer look at each team’s final injury report and the potential impact on the game.

The Colts have only two players with injury designations. Running back Tyler Goodson has been ruled out as he works through a groin injury he suffered in Week 4 against the Rams.

Without Goodson last week, the Colts elevated Ameer Abdullah from the practice squad for running back depth.

Cornerback Kenny Moore (Achilles) is out as well. Moore tested the injury prior to Wednesday’s practice, but he still wasn’t at the point where he could return to the field — although he is progressing.

“He’s making great progress, I’ll say that. Hopefully sooner rather than later,” Shane Steichen said on Friday, via Jake Arthur.

With both Moore and Mike Hilton injured, we likely see Chris Lammons at the nickel.

Returning for this week’s game is Alec Pierce, who cleared concussion protocol.

Cardinals’ quarterback Kyler Murray is questionable with a foot injury. He did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday, but returned in a limited capacity on Friday.

“We’ll see how it goes,” said head coach Jonathan Gannon on Friday morning.

If Murray can’t go, Jacob Brissett will get the start in Indianapolis.

Punter Blake Gillikin (back) is questionable as well and may not play. On Friday, the Carindals signed veteran punter Pat O’Donnell to the active roster.

Also questionable for Arizona are WR Zay Jones (knee), CB Max Melton (hamstring), LB Cody Simon (knee), and LB Mack Wilson (ankle).

Jones has caught five passes for 37 yards this season. Melton, one of Arizona’s starting cornerbacks, would miss last week’s game as well. He has two pass breakups on the season.

Wilson is one of the starting linebackers for Arizona, while Simon is a key special teams contributor.

The only Cardinals player who has been ruled out is defensive lineman Darius Robinson (pec). In four games, Robinson has three pressures, one sack, and four tackles over 153 snaps.
