For the first time since 2022, BYU football is in a weather delay.
The Cougars’ matchup with Arizona was halted at about 5:50 p.m. local time Saturday due to lightning within eight miles of the stadium.
The second quarter was just about to begin at the time of the delay, with BYU leading 14-7.
Heavy rain had been forecasted prior to the matchup due to tropical storm Priscilla in the southwest United States. Such precipitation began to fall during the delay, according to Deseret News reporter Jay Drew.
Starting to rain really hard here in Tucson; Appears that Hurricane Priscilla has arrived.
