The Nebraska football team received votes in the latest edition of the US LBM Coaches Poll.
Nebraska received 90 points this week, which places them between Michigan at 119 points and Washington at 85 points. Ohio State remains at the top of the poll, with five Big Ten teams represented in the top 25. No. 15 Michigan, No. 21 Iowa State, No. 22 Penn State and No. 23 Arizona State fell out of the top 25.
The Cornhuskers‘ last appearance in the US LBM Coaches Poll was week four of the 2024 season, when they were 3-0 and ranked No. 22 in the nation. They would quickly fall out of the top 25 after losing to Illinois.
The US LBM Coaches Poll is conducted weekly throughout the regular season using a panel of head coaches at Football Bowl Subdivision schools. The panel is chosen by random draw, conference by conference, plus independents, from a pool of coaches who have indicated their willingness to participate in the American Football Coaches Association.
Head coach Matt Rhule is a member of the US LBM Board of Coaches for the 2025 season and will participate as a voter this year.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-1, 2-1) retake the field on Friday, Oct. 17, when they travel to Minneapolis to face the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The kickoff time is set for 7 p.m. CT and can be seen on Fox.
