Matthew Golden isn’t as busy as Green Bay Packers fans want him to be yet, but positive results took place against the Cincinnati Bengalswhen the rookie wide receiver was put to work.
Though he caught just three balls for 86 yards, his first-round talent was on display on each catch, and his 31-yard grab on a key third-down conversion in the fourth quarter helped the Packers seal a 27-18 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Golden had his best day as a pro with over 100 yards of total offense, but it was clear on social media Packer fans want a higher volume of targets for the rookie that wears No. 0.
Though fans were pleased to see that Golden was more involved in the offense, they questioned why he hasn’t been more of a focal point in the Packers’ passing game despite playing only his fifth NFL game.
More targets are on the horizon as Golden has four catches of 30 yards or more in his last three games (including two against the Bengals).
