The New York Giants stunned the Philadelphia Eagles, 34-17, under the bright lights on Thursday Night Football, improving their record to 2-4 and giving their long-suffering fans a much-needed boost.
Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart is now 2-1 in his first three NFL starts and, arguably, the Giants should be 3-0 in those starts if not for an ugly series of self-inflicted wounds against the New Orleans Saints in Week 5.
While it may be hard to believe, they are right back into the thick of the NFC East race with a date with the Denver Broncos on tap.
As we enter Week 7, here’s a look at where the Giants place in a multitude of power rankings.

A fun fact for a fun quarterback — Jaxson Dart became the third one in league annals with at least 50 rushing yards in each of his first three starts (Hurts and Lamar Jackson are the others). It will be a tough streak to maintain Sunday in Denver.

Great win against the Eagles. But Giants fans have to be a little concerned that Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo won’t last all season with their devil-may-care attitude toward contact. It’s fun in the moment but not a long-term plan. Still, it’s a good time to be a Giants fan.
Diante Lee, The Ringer: 26 (+1)
Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart is a little too eager to lay his body on the line, and that’s more of a red flag than an admirable trait. Dart has scrambled on 12 percent of his dropbacks and been sacked on 9 percent of them since he was named starter — the second- and fourth-highest rates in the league in that span, respectively. Exposing yourself to big hits on over one-fifth of your pass plays is worrying, and that doesn’t even take into account the contact he takes as a runner.
Head coach Brian Daboll has to be enjoying these wins, but it’ll be a lot less fun if his quarterback keeps getting crushed on a weekly basis.
Vinnie Iyer, The Sporting News: 25 (+3)
The Giants are getting exactly what they want from new rookie fan favorites Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo to rev up the offense and inspire the entire team for Brian Daboll. Now let’s see it if can be good enough to save Daboll’s job.
Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: 26 (+2)
Jaxson Dart has brought life to this team, which it badly needed. The defense also came up big against the Eagles.
Conor Orr, Sports Illustrated: 25 (+4)
Jaxson Dart was fourth in total EPA this week behind Dak Prescott, Patrick Mahomes and Drake Maye. If nothing else, this team provided a wound-tight fanbase with an unbelievable exorcism against Philadelphia on Thursday night. Avoiding embarrassment against the Broncos could keep the good vibes rolling.
Josh Kendall, The Athletic: 22 (+5)
The average 121st pick in fantasy has become the 11th-highest-scoring running back so far (16.55 ppg). Skattebo is 28th in yards before contact per rush (1.06), which could be a sign that he’s not getting much help from the Giants offensive line. Of course, it also could be a sign that he just looks for people to run into.
Barry Werner, List Wire: 23 (+4)
Huge win against the Super Bowl champs. Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo have awaked the fan base and Giants’ offense. Be careful here, though, as Big Blue has rough scheduled ahead.
Walter Football: 23 (+3)
Jaxson Dart continued to look great. Converting 11-of-15 third downs against the Eagles was incredible, even if Philadelphia didn’t have Jalen Carter or Quinyon Mitchell. It’s truly astonishing that the Giants lost to the Saints and then beat the Eagles by three scores, but that’s football for you.
NFL Nation, ESPN: 25 (+5)
It has been only three starts, but Dart has shown signs of being a franchise quarterback. That was especially apparent as he led the Giants to upset wins over the Chargers and Eagles. Three quarterbacks have rushed for at least 50 yards in their first three starts — Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts and now Dart. Perhaps more importantly, Dart and rookie running back Cam Skattebo have injected life into the Giants. “Their energy is contagious,” cornerback Cor’Dale Flott said.
