Steelers vs. Bengals gets a bold prediction for Joe Flacco

Most Week 7 NFL picks don’t favor the Cincinnati Bengals in the Thursday night primetime game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

All things considered, that makes sense. The Steelers are 4-1, while the Bengals have dropped four in a row without Joe Burrow and have only just started to show signs of life with Joe Flacco under center.

But that emerging offense with Flacco has led to NFL.com’s Adam Rank predicting that the veteran passer throws three touchdowns against the Steelers.

It’s a bold prediction in the sense that Flacco lighting up the scoreboard after joining the Bengals roughly a week ago sounds strange to a national audience.

But maybe it’s not all that wild. After a timid first half last weekend during the loss to Green Bay, Flacco looked more comfortable in the second half and threw a pair of touchdowns in the process.

If that Flacco turns up for four quarters after more time adjusting to his new surroundings, a trio of touchdown passes in an upset could very well be on the table.

Otherwise, at places like ESPN, six of their eight experts pick the Steelers to win. Flacco will likely need to hit Rank’s bold take to prove the marjority wrong in primetime.
