The Pittsburgh Steelers caught a lucky break ahead of their Week 7 Thursday Night Football matchup against the Bengals — as a new report on Cincinnati’s superstar edge rusher leaves his status in doubt for the primetime contest.
At around 2:15 p.m. EDT, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Hendrickson is expected to be ruled out vs. the Steelers on Thursday night after missing three straight practices with a hip injury. He added that Hendrickson wanted to play but is now targeting a hopeful return in Week 8 when the Bengals take on the New York Jets.
Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson (questionable, back) is expected to be out tonight vs. Steelers, per source. Wanted to play but tough on short turnaround, hopeful for next week.

The news, while troubling for Cincinnati, couldn’t be better for Pittsburgh’s offensive line — one that held Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett to zero sacks last week and is firing on all cylinders.
