LOS ANGELES — Shohei Ohtani continues to prove why he’s the best player in baseball.
Ohtani propelled the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 4-0 lead against the Milwaukee Brewers after five innings of play in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series.
He provided an early spark, following up a scoreless first inning on the mound, with a solo home run in the bottom of the inning to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead.
The international superstar walked the Brewers’ leadoff hitter Brice Turang, before striking out Jackson Chourio, Christian Yelich and William Contreras in order.
His teammates provided further run support for Ohtani as Mookie Betts and Will Smith scored runs to give the Dodgers a 3-0 lead in the first.
Jackson Chourio managed to get the Brewers’ first hit in the top of the fourth inning, ending Ohtani’s chance at a no-hitter.
Ohtani launched a ball 469 feet toward center field for his second home run in the bottom of the fourth against Brewers pitcher Chad Patrick for his second home run of the game.
