5 Texas A&M baseball players listed as Top 100 MLB prospects

Texas A&M baseball head coach Michael Earley will enter his second season at the helm with plenty of pressure after the Aggies failed to reach the NCAA Tournament, ending May with a 3-6 record, including the shocking series loss to last-place Missouri. If the Aggies had beaten the Tigers, it was almost guaranteed that they would have returned to the postseason.

Still, it’s hard to lay all the blame on what was a first-year coaching staff, and after losing double-digit players to the 2025 MLB Draft, headlined by record-setting outfielder Jace LaViolette, who was selected in the first round by the Cleveland Guardians, the buy-in this offseason has been impressive to watch.

After playing through injury during most of the 2025 season, outfielder Caden Sorrell, considered one of the top prospects in the 2026 MLB Draft, now joins a familiar roster with infielder Gavin Grahovac and Terrence Kiel, while transfer additions Chris Hacopian and Jake Duer fill out a batting lineup poised to improve.

On the mound, Weston Moss, who finished with a 6-3 record, 3.19 ERA, and 50 strikeouts, is now considered the team’s ace pitcher after Ryan Prager officially departed for the MLB.

However, after suffering a season-ending injury, redshirt junior Shane Sdao’s return is equally essential, pulling out of the 2025 MLB Draft to return for what should be a rebound season after producing a 9–2 record with a 3.82 ERA and 101 strikeouts over 92 innings in his last two seasons.

While the rest of the pitching rotation is still a work in progress, the Aggie bats have looked impressive over the last two fall ball victories over Sam Houston and TCU. Unsurprisingly, all the veterans mentioned above were listed in D1 Baseball’s Top 100 College Prospects rankings:

  • Caden Sorrell — No. 10
  • Gavin Grahovac — No. 15
  • Chris Hacopian — No. 18
  • Weston Moss — No. 49
  • Shane Sdao — 70

After missing fall ball, Chris Hacopian is set to return after healing from an injury, while Sdao, who is also sitting out, is expected to be back at full strength as soon as the 2026 season begins.
