The Alabama Crimson Tide and coach Kalen DeBoer keep piling up victories in what has been one of the toughest stretches in all of college football.
Ty Simpson had yet another good night at quarterback for Alabama (6-1 overall, 4-0 SEC), which defeated the rival Tennessee Vols, 37-20, Saturday night at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Simpson completed 19 of his 29 passes for 253 yards and two touchdowns for the Crimson Tide’s fourth straight win against a top 25 opponent, and their sixth straight win overall. Simpson had no shortage of receivers to throw to in the Third Saturday in October rivalry.
Isaiah Horton and Rico Scott hauled in touchdowns, and Ryan Williams (five catches, 87 yards) and Germie Bernard (five catches, 60 yards) had big nights, as well. Daniel Hill (seven carries, 34 yards) provided a late boost to Alabama’s run game with a four-yard touchdown for the final score.
With a chaotic Week 8 schedule that saw four teams ranked in the top 10 fall, Alabama’s win over Tennessee ensured the Crimson Tide would move up in the Week 9 US LBM Coaches Poll Sunday.
