The NFL trade deadline has come and gone with a handful of high-profile players being dealt, but for the Kansas City Chiefs, who sit at 5-4, things were rather quiet.

In fact, the Chiefs weren’t involved at all in making any deals, as general manager Brett Veach and the front office appear content with the roster they have.

Given the current state of the roster, any move would have to be made with the idea of immediately improving a set position, and you could make the case that any move would have required some serious draft capital going the other way.

And it is clear that the Chiefs feel good about the current roster, and there wasn’t really a need for the franchise to go all in on the trade deadline.

Even though one move might have been nice.

No trade deadline moves for Chiefs

No position group really screamed out for reinforcement, and it is clear the Chiefs felt the same way —maybe some help for Chris Jones or a running back with Isiah Pacheco’s injury — but even that is nitpicking.

In truth, the Chiefs would have been making a trade “just” to make a trade, and we know the organization doesn’t roll like that, and now the defending AFC champs will move forward with their current roster and no doubt feel like they are in good shape to attack yet another Super Bowl.

Fans might have wanted to see one player come in just for the sake of it, but the Chiefs are content with their work, and now can fully focus on the second half of the season.
