The New York Giants could’ve been sellers before the NFL trade deadline.
They also could’ve been low-level buyers for an offensive skill player to help Jaxson Dart’s development.
In the end, they did neither.
The Giants are 2-7, and they’re going to ride this season out with the players already in their building.

Why didn’t the Giants make any trades?
The Giants didn’t make any trades because the cost didn’t match the desire.
ESPN’s Jordan Raanan wrote this on X shortly after the deadline:
“Quiet deadline for Giants. My understanding is they made calls on some big players but decided it was best not to give up substantial draft capital. The right move for this team given where they’re at and being 2-7.”
New York will get the chance to evaluate its current roster the rest of the way. From there, the Giants will have a better idea of how they want to attack the NFL Draft in the spring.
The future feels bright for New York thanks to Jaxson Dart at quarterback, and a hopefully returned-to-health Cam Skattebo at RB and Malik Nabers at WR.
The rest of this season will be entirely about Dart and getting him in the best possible place to be the future of this franchise at QB. He’ll do it without any new trade deadline friends, but also without having to say goodbye to anyone on Tuesday.
