With six different winners over the last seven years, the ACC men’s soccer tournament is always a wide-open competition.

The 2025 edition should follow suit, if the bracket is any indication. Stanford held the No. 1 spot in the national rankings throughout October but is the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament after finishing the regular season with a scoreless draw against SMU and a 1-0 loss to rival Cal.

That leaves Virginia atop the bracket, giving the Cavs the lone bye while the other 14 teams face off in opening-round matches Wednesday. They know as well as anyone that they’ll have to earn it on the field, though. The Cavs bounced top-seed Pitt from the quarterfinals last year. 

Wake Forest won the tournament as the No. 5 seed in 2024, surviving on penalties in the quarters and winning via the shootout against Clemson in the final. Who will prevail this time around?

The 2025 ACC men’s soccer tournament runs from Nov. 5 through Nov. 16. First-round and quarterfinal games will be played at campus sites, while the semifinals and championship will be played at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
