It looks like the Kentucky Wildcats will have Jaland Lowe when they host the Valparaiso Beacons on Friday night at Rupp Arena.
On Thursday, head coach Mark Pope announced that Lowe would have a full practice and is hopeful the star point guard will play on Friday.
“I think so, he’ll (Lowe) have a full practice today, so I hope so,” Pope said of Lowe potentially playing Friday.
Following Tuesday’s season-opening win over Nicholls, Pope said that he was hopeful of Lowe making his debut vs. Valparaiso.
“I think there’s a chance we might have a J-Lowe sighting Friday,” said Pope. “We’ll see. I’m not guaranteeing. It’s going to depend on the next couple of days of practice.”
As for Trent Noah, who went down with an ankle injury vs. Nicholls but was cleared to return, Pope is leaning toward holding the sophomore forward out Friday as a precaution.
“I expect he’s gonna be back soon. I don’t think we’ll practice him today. I don’t know if he’ll be available tomorrow,” Pope said of Noah. “I’m guessing maybe he…it’s probably a toss-up whether he will be or not. I’m probably leaning toward saving him and just trying to get him healthy.”
Here’s to hoping both Lowe and Noah are fully healthy and good to go next week vs. Louisville.
