Oregon Ducks injury report for Week 11 game vs. Iowa Hawkeyes

It’s been a relaxing 10 days for Oregon Duck fans, who saw a bye week to open up the month of November and allow some time to recover before the craziness in college football begins.

That relaxation is about to go out the window, though, with a trip to Iowa City and a top-20 matchup against the Iowa Hawkeyes on deck this weekend in a game that will help define the season for both teams. Fortunately, the Ducks were able to use the bye week to recover, getting a chance to rest and get healthy before the grueling stretch of games over the next month, with three top-25 teams on the schedule.

The last time we saw the Ducks, starting quarterback Dante Moore was being helped off the field with blood dripping down his face. So, how are things now after the bye, and what should we expect from this team on Saturday?

Here’s a look at where we think things stand on the injury front going into Week 11.

  • Dante Moore (Playing)
  • Evan Stewart (Doubtful)
  • Sione Laulea (Questionable)
  • Da’Jaun Riggs (Questionable)
  • Dillon Gresham (Out)
  • Trey McNutt (Out)
  • Jayden Limar (Out)
  • Kyler Kasper (Out for Season)
  • Bryce Boulton (Out for Season)

Dante Moore (Playing)

Dante Moore miss most of the second half with a nose injury after taking a hard hit and getting bloodied. After the game, and continually throughout the bye week, Dan Lanning has stated that Moore would be fine, and is planning to play in this game vs. Iowa.

Evan Stewart (Doubtful)

Evan Stewart is yet to play this year after tearing his patellar tendon this summer, but there is hope that he can return to the field soon. Last week, Dan Lanning said that they are continually evaluating his recovery process. Does that mean he sees the field this weekend against Iowa? It seems unlikely, as our sources tell us at Ducks Wire that later in the month, against Minnesota or USC are more likely. But still, we are getting close to his return.

Sione Laulea (Questionable)

Sione Laulea was listed as out for Oregon’s game against Wisconsin, but it is yet to be seen whether or not he was able to get back healhty with an undisclosed injury over the bye week. We will see if he travels on Saturday.

Da’Jaun Riggs (Questionable)

Da’Jaun Riggs was seen with a walking boot on the sideline of Oregon’s game against Wisconsin. We are not sure how severe of an injury it is that held Riggs out, or if he will be able to go this week vs. Iowa, but it is worth monitoring.

Jayden Limar (Out)

Limar was ruled out vs. Rutgers and did not make the trip. Dan Lanning said that he is going to be out for a little bit with an injury, but it is not expected to be long-term.

Dillon Gresham (Out)

Dillon Greshman suffered a neck injury before the season started, and has yet to suit up for the Ducks. Lanning said early in the year that his being held out was more precautionary than anything, but he has remained sidelined. We will see if he returns at all, but until we see him suited up, the assumption is that he will be held out.

Trey McNutt (Out)

After suffering a broken leg during fall camp, the 5-star true freshman safety has been held out so far this season. However, Lanning said during the bye week that there is still a chance for McNutt to return this season and see the field.

Kyler Kasper (Out for Season)

Kyler Kasper underwent another foot surgery this month, which will knock him out for the remainder of the year, Dan Lanning confirmed.

Bryce Boulton (Out for Season)

Bryce Boulton has been listed as out for the season on Oregon’s pregame availability report with an undisclosed injury.
