Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has been speaking to the media before Sunday’s Premier League game against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground (kick-off 14:00 GMT).
Here are the key lines from his news conference:
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin picked up an injury in his last game. Moyes said: “It was an abductor strain. It will be tight, so we will make a late call. He is not in team training, but we have a few more days and we won’t take any risks.”
- On Sebastiaan Bornauw: “He got a hit against his MCL so there is a question mark.”
- On Wilfried Gnonto: “He has been back in training for two full weeks. It’s good to see him back in training, so we will see if we take him. It’s not a risk any more because he is back in training.”
- On Dan James: “In terms of fitness, he is back and ready to start again. We need him but we need to find a good balance on creators. Dan fits several of our winger types, so we need to find who starts the game.”
- Farke spoke about the pressure of scoring goals: “We are a newly promoted side, so you can’t expect us to make as many chances as Haaland does for Manchester City. Our strikers know our position and we just want to score enough goals to stay in this league. The main thing is that we are successful as a team. I don’t judge my players on their goals and assists its also about there workload is quite important. It’s not that we are not brave enough – we just don’t make enough chances.”
- Farke said his approach to this season is that it is “never a must-win game”, adding: “What we want to achieve is a point average per game. I am just addicted to winning as many games as we need to stay in the league.”
