Studs and duds from the Panthers' Week 10 loss to Saints

The Carolina Panthers‘ Week 10 showing against the lowly New Orleans Saints could be best described as one big dud.

Sunday’s 17-7 loss shed light on some potentially fatal offensive flaws, as the unit netted just 102 passing yards on the afternoon. Their defense wasn’t exactly sharp either, allowing rookie quarterback Tyler Shough to pass for 10.4 yards per attempt in his second career start.

Nonetheless, a few players did have some noteworthy performances.

Here are our studs and duds from the disappointing defeat . . .

Dud: QB Bryce Young

Young completed 17 of his 25 passes for 124 yards, no touchdowns and an interception. He’s thrown for just 364 yards over his last three games.

Stud: WR Tetairoa McMillan

Despite a hamstring injury that put his status into question on Friday, McMillan powered through to carry whatever passing offense the Panthers could muster up. He reeled in five receptions for 60 yards.

Dud: WR Xavier Legette

You would think, with McMillan injured, that Carolina’s other first-round wideout would’ve stepped up. But he didn’t, totaling more false start penalties than he did catches. (He had one false start penalty.)

Stud: DL Derrick Brown

Brown continued his All-Pro-worthy campaign, tallying a game-high nine tackles.

Dud: CB Jaycee Horn

Horn was bested for a 62-yard touchdown by Saints wideout Chris Olave. This was not the cleanest offering from the 2024 Pro Bowler.

Stud: OLB Nic Scourton

Like last week, Scourton was flying all over the field. The rookie notched four tackles and one of the defense’s two sacks.
