A total of 18 names from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City squad will be in action for their respective national sides over the next two weeks.
It is the final international break of 2025 and separates Guardiola and his squad’s start to the season from their traditionally intense winter schedule, which features matches across all competitions they remain involved in.
From the usual Premier League and UEFA Champions League routines, Manchester City will also take on a Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Brentford in mid-December, while the FA Cup returns for the club with a third round tie in January.
City often hope that the international break could present much-needed rest for some of their key names, although the November pause for national team duties sees the majority of the squad in action.
In fact, only one name has been forced out of consideration for his national side, with Mateo Kovacic sidelined due to a fresh heel problem that reports in Croatia have suggested could require surgery and a period of four months away from action.

A total of seven names have not been selected for international duty this month, including a goalkeeping trio of Marcus Bettinelli, Stefan Ortega Moreno, and James Trafford/
Further forward, Manchester City’s three defensive midfield names have also not been selected for duty with both Nico Gonzalez and Rodri absent from Spain selection, and the latter still managing his fitness, while Kalvin Phillips remains out of the England squad.
In attack, Savinho remains aside from Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil plans and will certainly need to step up his performances if he wants to be placed into consideration for next summer’s FIFA World Cup.
As previously mentioned, Mateo Kovacic was unable to be considered by Croatia due to the midfielder managing another injury, with Croatian media expecting the experienced central star to undergo surgery.
