The Oregon Ducks came away with a huge win over the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday, getting past one of the biggest remaining tests on their schedule before a return trip home. To say that they got out unscathed, though, would be a lie.
Before the game, star wide receiver Dakorien Moore was ruled out with a knee injury. Tight end Kenyon Sadiq and OT Alex Harkey were also held out with injuries, and starting receiver Gary Bryant Jr. left with an injury in the first quarter.
Now, with a short week and a game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Friday night, the question is about how many of those guys will be able to turn around and play this week. That’s not a question that Lanning was willing to answer on Monday night during his weekly press conference.
“I’m not going to get into injuries,” Lanning said. “If they’re ready, they’ll play.”
This is hardly the first time that Lanning has declined to give information on injured players and whether or not they will be able to suit up and play in the coming weeks. For Duck fans eager to see some of their players on the field, it will be Friday night at about 5 p.m. PST before we get a good answer.
