Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua opening odds: You’ll go broke before you make a buck betting on ‘AJ’

So it turns out Jake Paul is trying to make up for the Tank Davis fiasco by boxing two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua this December on Netflix. Like almost everybody else in the “sweet science,” the sportsbooks are giving “El Gallo” little chance to win their Miami mashup — assuming it actually comes to fruition.

Paul opened as the +550 underdog against -1000 for Joshua, according to BetOnline.ag, so unless you’re pulling for a Paul upset, you’ll likely go broke trying to bet on “AJ” to win. Then again, watching Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) absolutely destroy former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has me wondering if it’s not such a bad investment after all.

Anyone wanna lend me $1000?

Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) was originally booked to battle Davis on Friday night in “The Sunshine State” but a messy civil suit cast an unsettling cloud over the entire affair. Promoters have yet to make any kind of an official announcement regarding Joshua or the rescheduling of the Netflix card, but fans can probably expect news on that front before the weekend.

If not sooner.
