The Denver Broncos have not yet announced if running back J.K. Dobbins (foot) will be placed on injured reserve, but the deadline to make a decision is right around the corner.
The Broncos need to make a decision by Saturday afternoon so Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs can count toward a potential four-game absence. If Dobbins is placed on IR on Saturday, he would have to sit out games against the Chiefs (Nov. 16), Washington Commanders (Nov. 30), Las Vegas Raiders (Dec. 7) and Green Bay Packers (Dec. 14).
Such a scenario would see Dobbins eligible to return in Week 16 against the Jacksonville Jaguars (Dec. 21). After that, Denver will close out the regular season against Kansas City (Dec. 25) and Los Angeles Chargers (Jan. 3/4).
If Denver does not place Dobbins on IR on Saturday, it will be a sign that the team has hope he could miss fewer than four games. The Broncos will have a bye in Week 12 after hosting the Chiefs.
