NEW YORK – Jack Della Maddalena and Islam Makhachev got a last look at each other Friday during ceremonial weigh-ins for their anticipated UFC 322 headliner.
Della Maddalena (18-2 MMA, 8-0 UFC) gets a tough task in his first welterweight title defense as he looks to spoil Makhachev’s (27-1 MMA, 16-1 UFC) bid at a second divisional belt and a 16th consecutive octagon win, which would tie Anderson Silva for the longest streak in company history.

The respect from both sides has been high throughout fight week, but the competitive tension is clear. It’s a defining career moment for Della Maddalena and Makhachev, and they both looked ready to go at the final staredown in advance of tomorrow’s main event, which takes place at Madison Square Garden (ESPN+ pay-per-view, ESPNews, FX, Disney+, ESPN+).
