Real Madrid prodigy shows commitment to national team amid fitness struggles

Real Madrid’s new young signing and long-term bet Franco Mastantuono has been ruled out through pubalgia for a while now – the same chronic setback that is currently also tormenting Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and Athletic Club’s Nico Williams.

As a result of his condition, the tennage prodigy has not played since Real Madrid’s 4-0 win over Valencia and did not join the Argentine national team in the ongoing international break as well.

As relayed by AS in a recent update, however, Mastantuono still travelled to join the national team camp in recent days to show his commitment to the team and keep himself close to the dressing room and manager.

Recovering with focus

The Spanish outlet furthers that Real Madrid see this to be a season of adaptation for Mastantuono and are thus extremely cautious with his fitness.

No risks will thus be taken until he is back to his 100% and there is no deadline on the horizon as it stands.

The goal, for both Mastantuono and Real Madrid, is to have the player fully fit and raring to fight for a spot in Argentina’s squad for the FIFA World Cup.

The youngster plans to strengthen his lower body through physical therapy and he is following a very specific plan to free himself from the discomfort at the earliest.

In fact, he even returned from the national team camp on Wednesday to restart his recovery routine.

Xabi Alonso and Co. will hope to have the Argentine star back fit at the earliest, especially given how the schedule gets more hectic in the coming months and the team do not have sufficient backup on the right wing.

Mastantuono, after all, has been the manager’s preferred player in the position so far this season.
