The college basketball season is just over two weeks old, and we still have a long way to go before anything is close to being settled. But that hasn’t stopped the trash talk from flowing.
With a few months before UNC and NC State play on the court this season, Wolfpack head coach Will Wade is looking to spice things up with the Tar Heels. And he’s doing it through the media again.
Wade and his players have taken shots at North Carolina head coach Hubert Davis in the past and following their win on Monday against VCU, the head coach was at it again.
“Second game he’s picked up a foul before the first media,” Wade said to the media. “That’s made him more timid cause he’s not used to playing for a coach that won’t foul him out by sitting him on the bench. Thought he was great tonight.”
The player he’s talking about is former UNC center Ven-Allen Lubin.
That coach he’s referring to is Davis. Wade and NC State took a shot at Davis over the Summer, saying “the other school was too dumb to play him.” Well, Davis did have to pull Lubin when he got into foul trouble to protect him as UNC had a lack of bigs.
Also, Wade should probably focus on his team and the task at hand as they escaped a scare from VCU on Monday night.
