The North Carolina Tar Heels are now 5-0 on the young college basketball season, beating Navy 73-61 in Chapel Hill on Tuesday night. It’s the lone game for the Tar Heels this week before they head to Fort Myers for two games during Thanksgiving week, including one against Michigan State.
This wasn’t as easy of a game as many thought for UNC as Navy hung around. They even had a big run at the end of the game to cut the lead down to single digits with just over a minute or so left. But a win is a win and UNC will enter next week at 5-0.
Before we completely turn the page on this game, let’s look how social media reacted to UNC’s big win over Navy.
Caleb Wilson is the real deal
There’s no need to have anymore conversation on the best freshmen in College Basketball this season.
Caleb Wilson got that wrapped up.

Caleb Wilson has an all around skill set that you don’t see too often in college basketball.

Waiting for someone to post video of that Caleb Wilson dunk, because, that had to be the most impressive in game dunk I’ve seen all year. #Tarheelspic.twitter.com/XhIiiCyeM3

Wasn’t all so pretty for UNC
Far from a performance to remember, but you take the W and move on.
Heels were sloppy/lackadaisical for most of the night, especially defensively, but still got it done. Luka was good in the first half, Caleb Wilson was even better in the second. What can’t he do?

Many #UNC fans will hate that score line, but big picture, that might not be the worst thing for this team before the roadie. We’ll see.

Probably the worst half of the year thus far. Need Hubert to lock the boys in ASAP

Some milestones for UNC Basketball
That’s UNC’s second 5-0 start under Hubert Davis (2022-23).
It hasn’t started 6-0 since its 2016-17 national championship season.

With their victory over Navy, the Tar Heels secured the 2,400th victory in UNC basketball program history, making it the third school in NCAA history to reach that mark! #2400 #GoHeelspic.twitter.com/T4V9HOA0Tg

Jarin Stevenson understands the assignment KEEP FEEDING THE BEAST HE IS UNSTOPPABLE‼️💪🏾

Jarin Stevenson is the perfect glue guy- Navy cut the deficit to four before he gets a put back dunk, and he just made a fantastic defensive play that led to the and 1 for Caleb Wilson on the other end.

JARIN STEVENSON!

A players’ only meeting after the game
UNC had a players-only meeting after its 73-61 win against Navy. The Tar Heels were up 24 points with just under five minutes left.
