NFL insider reveals Alvin Kamara's status for Week 12 game vs. Falcons

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is expected to play against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Kamara was listed as questionable on the Saints’ final Week 12 injury report due to an ankle injury.

The five-time Pro Bowl running back has rushed for 460 yards and one touchdown on 128 carries this season, adding 31 catches for 182 receiving yards. While the Saints will have their top running back, the Falcons won’t have their No 1 wide receiver in Sunday’s NFC South showdown.

Drake London has been ruled out with a knee injury and is considered week-to-week. Atlanta will also be without quarterback Michael Penix Jr., cornerback Billy Bowman Jr. and defensive lineman Zach Harrison. All three players were placed on the injured reserve list.

The Saints released wide receiver Brandin Cooks earlier this week, but Chris Olave is set to play after landing on the injury report with an ankle injury. Sunday’s game will be the first time the Falcons face off against head coach Kellen Moore and quarterback Tyler Shough.

The rookie has passed for 586 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in four games. New Orleans is 2-8 while Atlanta has lost five straight games to fall to 3-7 on the season. The winner of Sunday’s game will take over third place in the NFC South.
