Ravens vs. Jets: Takeaways from first half as Baltimore trails 10-7

The Ravens and Jets are in the midst of an intense first-half defensive battle that saw Baltimore struggle on third down, and end the first 30 minutes, trailing, 7-3 at home as the team was showered with boos on the way to the locker room.

With the second half set to begin, we’re looking at takeaways and observations from the Ravens’ difficult first half.

Ravens third down

Ravens are 0-for-5 on third down, and they’re averaging 3.0 yards per play.

Ravens offensive line

Lamar Jackson was sacked to end the Ravens’ third drive, and he has now been sacked 24 times in eight starts — which is already one more than the number of times he was sacked in 17 games last season (23).

Jordan Stout

The Ravens punter tied the franchise record with a 74-yard kick.

Jackson is 6-11 passing for 59 yards and a 69.9 QB rating. Jackson has rushed the football four times for seven yards.

Derrick Henry

Henry had five carries for 14 yards (2.8 avg) in the first half, and one catch for five yards.

Tyrod Taylor

Tyrod Taylor started the game 0-2 but has been excellent since. Taylor led the Jets on a 12-play, 79-yard drive that ate up 6:29 of time and ended with a John Metchie 13-yard TD catch.

Ravens defense

Zay Flowers

Flowers had three catches for 41 yards (13.7 avg), and the flashy wide receiver was the one offensive positive.

Dre’Mont Jones

Jones logged his first sack since being traded to Baltimore, and he’s continued his strong play with one tackle for loss, and one QB hit.
