Mistakes and missteps plagued the Pittsburgh Steelers all afternoon long against the Chicago Bears and after a final pass fell short, the Steelers fell 31-28 to the Bears and fell to 6-5 on the season.
Pittsburgh went into the game with Mason Rudolph pressed into service after Aaron Rodgers was inactive with his wrist injury. Rudolph finished with just 171 passing yards and was responsible for two turnovers, including an interception. The Steelers run game worked well with Kenneth Gainwell and Jaylen Warren combining for 160 yards.
The story of the game was the Steelers defense. Just a week after a dominating performance against the Cincinnati Bengals, this same group struggled to generate consistent pressure on Caleb Williams and as the game wore on, showed some weakness against the run.
With the Steelers loss and the Baltimore Ravens win over the New York Jets this week, we have a tie atop the AFC North with the Ravens holding the tiebreaker for now. The Steelers and Ravens still have to play each other twice this season. Next up for the Steelers is a huge home showdown against the Buffalo Bills before that first matchup against the Ravens.
