2 Fever players among USA Basketball Women's senior national team camp rookies

Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston are among the 18 players invited to participate in a USA Basketball Women’s National Team training camp, the organization announced Monday.

Both Indiana Fever stars have previously participated in international competition: Clark has won gold medals at various junior competitions. Boston has competed in the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup, and represented the US at a number of junior and senior competitions.

Clark will be making her senior national team camp debut, as are UCLA’s Lauren Betts USC’s JuJu Watkins, and WNBA players Cameron Brink, Veronica Burton, Rickea Jackson and Angel Reese, and rookie All-Stars Paige Bueckers, Sonia Citron, Kiki Iriafen.

The list of invitees also includes 2016 Indiana Miss Basketball Jackie Young.

The training camp is set for Dec. 12-14 at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and will be led by 2025-28 USA Basketball coach Kara Lawson (Duke). Her staff of assistants includes Fever coach Stephanie White, Golden State Valkyries coach Natalie Nakase and Phoenix Mercury coach Nate Tibbetts. White was a court coach at the April 2024 training camp and also played for Team USA at the 1997 Jones Cup and the 1994 and 1995 US Olympic Festivals.

Sue Bird, the USA Women’s National Team managing director, will evaluate players prior to naming a team for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup, set for Sept. 2026 in Berlin.
