The Oklahoma Sooners picked up a big-time commitment on Monday, flipping the pledge of four-star running back Jonathan Hatton from the Texas A&M Aggies. Hatton began trending toward the Sooners on Sunday night when Rivals’ recruiting director Steve Wiltfong predicted the blue-chip prospect to flip to the Sooners.
Hatton first committed to the Sooners back in October of 2023 before decommitting from the Sooners last December. But the Sooners were able to keep the door open for Oklahoma to stay in the race for one of the best running back prospects in the 2026 recruiting class.
Hatton has more than 30 offers, with 29 coming from Power Four programs. He’s a dynamic player with size to be a force between the tackles and the speed to run away from the defense. Hatton displays excellent vision, contact balance, and speed. He’s a game-breaking talent in every sense of the word and someone who can make an impact as a true freshman.
This is a huge recruiting win for running backs coach DeMarco Murray and offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle.
