The Athletes Unlimited Softball League held its 2025 draft on Monday night, with 43 players being selected across the six teams. With the 19th pick in the allocation draft, the Oklahoma City Spark selected Nebraska alumni Billie Andrews.
Andrews joins the Spark after playing in the Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball AUX season in June 2024, which took place at Wichita State’s Wilkins Stadium. She started in 11 of 12 games, earning 12 RBIs, 11 hits and four home runs, finishing with a .324 batting average.
Before that, she played four seasons with the Huskers and put together a stellar career. She started in every single game and finished in the top ten in 11 of Nebraska’s career record lists. Her most notable career achievement is home runs. She set a new school record in that category, hitting 61 home runs in her career. Andrews is also second in school history in extra bases hit and slugging percentage, finishing with 100 and a .679, respectively.
Andrews earned two All-American accolades, three all-region selections and four All-Big Ten picks. She was also named Nebraska’s Female Student-Athlete of the Year in 2024 and Husker Female Athlete of the Year in 2022.
She now joins the Spark, who are in their inaugural season with the AUSL. The league is the premier professional women’s softball league in the United States, featuring six teams.
