Another LaVallee is headed to Tallahassee, as Noah has officially signed with FSU.
LaVallee is a 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker from Marietta, Georgia. He plays for Walton High and is the younger brother of Caleb LaVallee, who transferred to Florida State this offseason from North Carolina. FSU beat out the Cincinnati Bearcats, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Kansas Jayhawks, Ole Miss Rebels, and Wake Forest Demon Deacons, among others, for Noah’s pledge.
247Sports Composite has LaVallee as a three-star prospect and the 1,445th best player in the nation (120th best LB, 148th best in GA), but he was last evaluated two and a half months ago. He is a highly-productive linebacker with ideal size for modern defenses and shows good field vision, patience, and a quick trigger to diagnose plays in his film. In Tony White’s scheme, Noah would be a true Mike (middle) linebacker. His speed and physicality would translate into the position and the coaching staff believes he has strong leadership potential. The ability to play alongside his brother was certainly a selling point, but the Seminole staff wisely recruited Noah without leaning too hard on that angle.
LaVallee was a beast on the field during his senior season, racking up 183 tackles (103 solo and eight for loss), 10 pass deflections, one sack, one forced fumble and recovery, and a blocked punt. He also had an extremely productive junior campaign, being named to the First-Team All-Region and tallying 124 tackles (eight for loss), five pass breakups, and a blocked punt. He may not be the most athletic or fastest linebacker on the team, but he knows how to play the position to his strengths and should help quickly on special teams. I think this is a nice take for the field and the locker room.
LaVallee sports a 3.55 GPA and is a leader on his high school team, something that the staff believe will carry over to his new home in Tallahassee.
