Not everyone is down on the Denver Broncos after a 10-2 start, nine consecutive victories and several close calls. In fact, “Good Morning Football” host Kyle Brandt thinks Denver could be headed toward something special.
“Denver just, they never lose,” said Brandt on Monday’s edition of GMFB. “I feel like they have a little bit of a ‘dueling Spiderman’ thing with them and New England. Like is this the same team? They feel so similar. You have the second-year quarterbacks who are really talented, and sometimes look great, sometimes look a little shaky, then they redeem themselves. You have like the old veteran Obi-Wan Kenobi head coach who’s not here for any BS, who in one way or another has a Super Bowl ring at home, and I feel like neither one of these teams has lost since 2006.”
Brandt then went on to compare the Broncos and Patriots to the 2006 Pittsburgh Steelers, who won Super Bowl XL with second-year quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, where the Steelers had a second-year quarterback, a great coach and a great defense. “When we’re getting into the money time, it’s time to really see what you’re made of,” Brandt said. “It’s December; a couple things I want: a coach I can depend on, I want to be able to win close games, and I want a really good defense. And Denver has got all of those things.
“We can do it now. There’s no warm up — screw that! I’ve said this a million times: Year 2 is the new Year 5 for quarterbacks. Win now!”
Nix has been better at getting wins than any of his other second-year quarterbacks; he has 20 total wins, to Maye’s next closest at 14. “The cool clique of young guys, Nix and Maye, they’re coming right in, so if I’m the Broncos, I’m thinking, ‘Win the Super Bowl this year,'” said Brandt.

There is history on Brandt’s side to suggest Denver could be Super Bowl contenders; the past four times the Broncos have started exactly 10-2, they have made a trip to the Super Bowl, including their most recent championship in 2015.
