CANTON, Ohio, Dec. 4 — The Anderson [Cincinnati, OH] Raptors and the Avon [OH] Eagles will meet Thursday night at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium to decide Ohio’s OHSAA Division II state championship in high school football.
The Raptors enter the game with an unblemished 14-0 record while Avon has compiled a 13-1 ledger in defense of their 2024 state championship. These two teams also met in last year’s finale with Avon winning, 20-13.
Last year, both teams entered the game 15-0, meaning that Anderson is 29-1 in its last 30 games with the only loss coming to Avon. But this time, Avon enters the game with a loss, and Anderson is a slight favorite based on most national rankings heading into this year’s title tilt.
The game will kick off at 7 p.m. EST local.
