New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is the current favorite to win the NFL MVP award, but not everyone is buying him as a legitimate postseason contender.
Sports commentator Skip Bayless believes the second-year quarterback will be in over his head when the competition heats up in the playoffs. He even named three other quarterbacks that he believes would beat Maye and the Patriots.
“This kid is going to get thrown into a fire I don’t think he’s ready for,” Bayless said on The Arena: Gridiron. “Even if it’s in Foxborough, it’s going to be a hot fire on a really cold day or night. Josh Allen will go beat Drake Maye in a playoff game. He just will. Bo Nix will beat Drake Maye in a playoff game. And do not count out Joe Burrow yet. He ain’t dead yet. If he winds up in Foxborough, my money’s gonna be on Joe Burrow.”

Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals would need a lot of luck to find their way into the postseason with their current record sitting at 4-8. Nix and the Denver Broncos made it to the playoffs last season and got blown out in a 31-7 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
As for the Bills, Josh Allen will be one of the biggest threats in the playoffs, as he is every year. But as great as the Bills have been in recent years, they still haven’t gotten over the AFC Championship hump.
It will be a steep climb for Maye in his postseason debut, but anything is possible given how wide open the AFC conference has been all year.
