Grimsby Town have agreed a new two-and-half-year contract with defender Doug Tharme.

The deal will keep the 26-year-old at Blundell Park until the summer of 2028.

Tharme has been at Grimsby since joining from Blackpool in January 2024 and he has made a total of 51 appearances in all competitions.

“We think it reflects what he’s done so far. Obviously he’s delighted. From all our chats, he wants to stay,” boss David Artell told BBC Radio Humberside.

“He can be really important, and will be really important, going forward.”
