Beyond the Indianapolis Colts needing to win their own pivotal matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, what other NFL games should you keep your eyes on in Week 14?
Although there are still five games left in the regular season, it’s not too early to begin scoreboard watching when it comes to the AFC playoff race.
At 8-4, the Colts are tied with the Jaguars in the wins and losses columns, however, Jacksonville does hold the current tie-breaker with the better win percentage against common opponents.
The winner of Sunday’s game between these two teams will have sole possession of the AFC South with only four games to go.
In fact, when it comes to the Colts’ playoff chances in general, the numbers say that the outcome of this game comes with major playoff implications for Indianapolis.
Along with the Colts and Jaguars being 8-4, so are the LA Chargers and the Buffalo Bills. The Chargers are the fifth seed in the AFC, and the Bills are the seventh seed.
Just on the outside looking in at the AFC playoff picture are the 7-5 Houston Texans.
Any of those three teams losing this week wouldn’t be a bad thing for the Colts.
