Spinning Back Clique: Petr Yan dethrones Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 323

Check out this week’s “Spinning Back Clique,” MMA Junkie’s weekly live show that takes a spin through the biggest topics in mixed martial arts.

This week’s panel of Brian “Goze” Garcia, Matt Wells and Danny Segura will join host “Gorgeous” George Garcia live at noon ET (9 a.m. PT) to discuss and debate the following topics:

  • The final UFC pay-per-view event of 2025 is in the books. UFC 323 went down this past Saturday, and the card saw two dominant champions lose their belts, along with other key action. In the main event, Petr Yan pulled off the upset of Merab Dvalishvili with a dominant decision. It was a result few saw coming. In the co-main, Alexandre Pantoja lost his flyweight belt after suffering a freak arm injury 26 seconds into his fight with Joshua Van. We recap these two championship bouts.
  • The matchmakers were busy this past week. A BMF title bout between champion Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira was booked for UFC 326 in March; lightweight bangers Dan Hooker vs. Benoit Saint-Denis and Mauricio Ruffy vs. Rafael Fiziev were added to UFC 325; reports of a Ronda Rousey comeback shook up the MMA world. We review these matchups.
  • To close out the show, we take a look at Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 73 in Las Vegas. Flyweight contenders Manel Kape and Brandon Royval headline the event in a bout that could determine the next title challenger. We break down this bout, along with other notable matchups from the card.
