Report: MSU QB Aidan Chiles will be a top target if he enters transfer portal

If Aidan Chiles were to enter the transfer portal, he’s reportedly going to be one of the top targets in the market.

Two years ago, Chiles came to Michigan State as one of the top transfer portal quarterbacks in the cycle, and should he enter the portal again, he will reportedly be a top target again. Chris Hummer of CBS Sports posted an article on Tuesday that noted some of the top quarterbacks that teams are monitoring for potential transfer portal movement, and Chiles was a name that popped up.

Here’s what Hummer had to say about Chiles specifically:

“Chiles was benched earlier this season by the old Michigan State staff. It’s unclear how new coach Pat Fitzgerald’s hire will impact his thinking. But Chiles has been a popular name among industry sources, in terms of potential portal players.”

Chiles started the first 20 games of his career at Michigan State, but battled injuries and was eventually replaced by Alessio Milivojevic for the final four games of this past season. Chiles finished this year with 1,392 passing yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions. He also had 227 rushing yards and six touchdowns this season.

Chiles has not yet announced any decision on where he’ll be next year, but many expect him to look for a new start. If he does elect to come back for his senior season at Michigan State, he’ll certainly be in the mix to start for the Spartans and battle with Milivojevic for that gig. If he decides to leave via the portal, it sounds like he won’t have any problem finding a new home elsewhere.
