Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Week 15: TE Edition

What’s better than a new electronic for Christmas? A boat? A new house?

No, a fantasy football trophy.

And if you want that sparkly hardware, listen here and lock in. These are the tight ends that you need to be looking to utilize in Week 15, and which big bodies are better to get into hibernation until at least next week, if not until spring.

Start: George Kittle (San Francisco 49ers)

Don’t even think twice about it. Ride Kittle all the way to the bank against a hapless Titans team that is already looking towards the draft.

Sit: Colston Loveland (Chicago Bears)

You might think this is an easy win for the surging tight end, but don’t bet against the Cleveland secondary. They are good on all levels, and the Bears have not been wowing people with their passing game. It’s going to be probably a one-sided affair for Chicago, but it’s going to be more about breaking through the Browns‘ defense and less so about trying to go over them with long passes.

Start: Mark Andrews (Baltimore Ravens)

I don’t care if you have better tight ends on your roster. If Andrews is available or on your bench, play him. The Cincinnati Bengals‘ defense is a one-stop shop for tight ends wanting to have a career day. Joe Burrow might have returned and helped the team’s narrative, but remember: Burrow doesn’t play linebacker or cornerback. And until he can show that he can at a high level, tight ends are going to feast on the Bengals.

Sit: Brock Bowers (Las Vegas Raiders)

If you don’t have any better options on the bench or to pick up, then fine, play Bowers. But if there’s a chance to sit him for at least a week, do it. The Eagles are going to be playing at home, angered, and with a crowd ready to jump on them if the Raiders get a measly first down. The Raiders are going to be overwhelmed all day, and Bowers is going to be covered like he’s the most important person in the world on Sunday when he’s trying to catch passes.

Start: Oronde Gadsden II (Los Angeles Chargers)

While I don’t like the receivers for the Chargers against the Chiefs, I do love the rookie tight end in this spot. The Chiefs can get beaten by big receivers, and Gadsden has been a solid safety blanket for Justin Herbert with an offensive line that falls apart quickly. While he might not be the hero of a fantasy team this week, Gadsden could be a savvy play that sneaks you a victory.

Sit: Tyer Warren (Indianapolis Colts)

Who is throwing to you, Warren? The matchup is favorable for Warren, as the Seahawks can give up big chunks to tight ends, but when Philip Rivers might be rolling out there after not throwing a pro pass in five years, I can’t bet my fantasy life on it. If Rivers or whoever goes out there and dominates, fine, play Warren next week. But for now, play it safe.
